5. Tell your readers 3 things about yourself

  1. I am a History Teacher. I love teaching history to middle and high school students. Somehow this occupation has never been my top priority, but it has landed to be one of my biggest life decisions. I love working and learning with my students. History is just so much that no one can learn on their own, it’s great to have my students take the learning journey with me 🙂
  2. Somewhat related to #1, I love spending my time in museums and historical sites. Since I live so close to Washington D.C., my favorite weekend and holiday downtime is in museum gift shops. You’ll find me carrying bags home and thinking how to decorate my classroom or my work room with posters and artifacts!
  3. I don’t know what even pushed me to start this blog. It’s unexpected and unbelievable and here I am 🙂 I am so glad to been able to be part of this community of wonderful bloggers who take so much care and meticulous effort into creating their works in writing, photography, and interests. I am deeply honored to have visitors like you to be reading my posts, it really does seem surreal at times. THANK YOU TO ALL 🙂

6. You have to nominate 10 – 20 people

Below are wonderful bloggers that I would like to sincerely nominate. There is no doubt there are many other bloggers who are beyond this list that I am unable to list all, but here are the wonderful bloggers you should definitely visit –

7. Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog

I definitely will 🙂

8. Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice; with one weird or funny question (specify)

  1. What is one motivating quote that keeps you going in life?
  2. If you could describe one turning point in your life, what would it be?
  3. What prompted you to create your blog?
  4. If you could travel to one place right now, where would it be?
  5. What do you call a Fish without eyes? Fsh. Get it? It was a joke, now it’s your turn to tell one joke! (funny and weird?)

9. Share a link to your best post(s)

Hmm… this is hard, can I just share my blog’s link and you decide? Thanks!

10. Here are the questions from my nominator and my answers below –

  1. What is your idea of perfect happiness and/or peace?
    • A place where there’s no longer competition, jealousy, ill-thoughts, hatred, and many other undesired feelings against each other. A place where everyone can just unite into one sharing the same heart.
  2. If there is one issue/problem you would like to help with in our society, what would it be?
    • There are so many, but if I had to pick one, it would be children. Children who are sick, children who are starving, children with no education, these are the children we need to provide care and support for in our society. Unborn children needs to be protected, it is a life!
  3. In times of trouble or challenges, whom/what gets you up again?
    • God… and my amazing human mother. God, who invisibly supports me, no matter when I have doubts about his existence, my paths have always been clear so I can walk into faith. My mother who has been by my side for every single turning point in my life. She’s an example of good-deed, love, and patience that keeps me going.
  4. If you had a choice, which animal/flower/tree would you like to be ? Why? (fun question)
    • If I can’t smile like a human, then I’d like to shine as a sunflower. I’d like to be happy and provide happiness to the things (or people) around me if I can.
  5. What do you look for in other people’s blogs?
    • Genuine conversations, originality, and connection. The wisdom of words in people’s blog that sucks you into reading more.

Thank you all for reading this long post, I promise to keep my other posts shorter to keep your attention wide awake 🙂 But it is absolutely an honor to be nominated for this and thank you to all my fellow bloggers, followers, readers, and visitors. I look forward to continue to seeing everyone’s presence through my blog 🙂

    1. Thank you very much for coming by and reading this long post 🙂 Really appreciate the best wishes, it’s definitely been great to learn from other bloggers as I get my blog going! Thanks for your kind words and I look forward to reading more of your posts!

  1. Congratulations! It’s so nice to meet a history teacher here :)) I hated history for as long as we had compulsory history classes but now, as I’ve changed streams, I really wish I had enjoyed them and used them to my fullest. My interest in history increases by the day and I was wondering if you know of any good fiction that I could read to get a little familiar with eastern world history? (Particularly Asia and Africa)
    Again, congratulations on this award!

    1. Thank you so much for your wonderful words! I’m so glad you are getting interested in learning about the history of the world! Honestly, there were times where I dreaded through my history classes but looking back now, I wish I had enjoyed my time better… but history is there where it is so it’s never too late to visit it anytime 🙂

Hmm, you got me thinking here, I know I read a historical fiction book about this Japanese girl in the internment camps once, but I can’t remember the name of the book at this moment… but I honestly haven’t read much historical fiction of Asia or Africa, but I do know some non-fiction books you might be interested in –

My most favorite one is “I will always write back” by Caitlin Alfirenka & Martin Ganda (This is an amazing book, I know it’s listed in the Young Adults section, but I love it and so did my mom! It nicely depicts the cultural connection and difference of the two cultures of the U.S. and Zimbabwe).

Another one is “I am Malala” which is absolutely an inspiring book to read!

Or if you’re more interested in the history of the world through many countries, you should try reading the book titled, “A History of the World in 6 Glasses” by Tom Standage. I remember reading this in college and loved it! 🙂

Oh there’s the War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy which is an absolute classic, although the reading might be a bit more intensive, but it’s worth a try 🙂

Hope that helps a bit, I’m so sorry that I’m quite short on fiction books regarding Asia & Africa. But I’m really glad to see people getting interested in history! & Thanks so much for your well wishes! Really appreciate your visit 🙂

    1. Haha, yes I am. Thank you, although I’m not really sure if my students would say the same haha! 🙂

Thanks so much for reading through that long post. I’m glad you liked the joke, I couldn’t think of one so had to look that one up online! 🙂 I’m not good with jokes haha!

You truly deserve nomination much more than me 🙂
